145, all but 2 are "green" anywhere from about 2K up to almost 500K (3 ALCWN bonds are my top gainers.)
BONDS biggest losere refers to those positions in which the Fund has, at present, lost money. In these cases, I am also questioning my own strategy, as well as that of the players.
Last week, JDEPP was one of my losers. It was a short pending adjust, but players who did not know StarBonds worked were buying (or covering) and the value of the StarBond was higher than when BONDS had taken a short position. BONDS was not going to change, or make any more or less when the adjust was going to occur, I was simply aletting players that the correct investment should have been short, and I always use the prices to back up the statement.
I also try to mention, from time to time, that any attempt to mimic the fund should be done with a portfolio at least 2 times the size of the fund. At present, my worst dROI is about .50 and the fund is worth almost 100M. Anyone trying to buy or short bonds with tha kind of dROI should have a portfolio of at least 200M or greater.
Going back to the first BONDS fund, in 2002, (I came on board 2 years later) the purpose was to educate players about the soundness of the "new" bond market, and I have always tried to have hints that were educational.
Yesterday, as the fund approached delist, I was being cute. I would love the fund to be positive on every position before it delists. Usually that is the way it starts out.
Once again, the "losers" refers only to the fact that BONDS has lost some H$ of investment and should not have.
Hoping to go out in a "Blaze of Glory"....mrbinns
