25 cities accounted for nearly 1 in every 5 homicides last year. In these high-crime areas, increasing gang violence, drug trafficking, and domestic violence contributed to the uptick in homicides nationwide.

Take the guns away from the gangs and the drug traffickers, and leave the law abiding citizens alone to defend ourselves and our families. Common sense / Constitutional right of self defense.

We have armed guards at our banks to protect our money. We have armed guards at our airports to protect our travel. We have armed guards at our court houses to protect our judges. We have armed guards at our government buildings to protect our politicians. We have armed guards at our sporting events to protect the fans. Why don't we have armed guards at schools to protect our children? Some schools do, most don't.

Security patrolled parking lots. Blue light alarm towers with cameras in parking lots. Two armed officers on every level or in every school building. One entrance into schools, with metal detectors and cameras. Fire / Exit Only doors alarmed with cameras. Locked classrooms during classes. Wooden door jams in every teachers desk. Teachers wear panic buttons that alert school security to exact room location. Brick walls to classrooms instead of drywall. Fire alarms verified before anyone leaves a classroom. PA systems can provide safe evacuation instructions from Security after verification of fire. First Aid kits in every classroom. Active shooter training for students and staff every semester. (Out of sight, quiet, silence phones, notify security of location and injuries. Teaching kids when/how to report threats). Common sense child safety for schools. Tax dollars should go towards protecting our most important asset, our children.

There were armed guards at both Parkland and Santa Fe, and they practiced active shooter drills. Won't stop a gunman from firing first. {nm} Antibody May 23, 08:34
