The Gift follows a Southern psychic, played by Cate Blanchett, who makes a living from her power to the ire of her community. Trouble brews when she begin to have visions of her neighbor's darker sides including the murder of a young woman. The film is written by Billy Bob Thornton and directed by Sam Raimi, who first collaborated together in 1998's A Simple Plan. Though this drama is budgeted at under $10 million, The Gift features a star-studded cast that also includes Giovanni Ribisi, Katie Holmes, Hilary Swank, Greg Kinnear, Ron Eldard and Keanu Reeves.
