James Caan began his career in the 1960s working his way up the theatrical ranks. By the late '60s, Caan had become a bona fide movie star, starring in such Howard Hawks films as 1965's Red Line 7000 and 1967's El Dorado. In 1969, Caan appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's The Rain People followed by 1972's The Godfather. By the late '70s, however, a series of poor career choices nearly brought Caan's career to a halt as he did not appear in any films from 1983 to 1986. Caan resurfaced in 1990's Misery and 1992's Honeymoon in Vegas. Since then, Caan has landed regular work as a key supporting player.
