Never one to be the leading man but instead going on to have a steady career playing the bad guy and various character parts, Henriksen got his start at the famed Actors studio in New York.
His first big role came in the seventies in the film Dog Day Afternoon, followed by roles in other high profile films such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind and The Right Stuff.
In the eighties, Henriksen had a small role in The Terminator (due to his friendship with director James Cameron) and a role in Aliens along with various television appearances.
In recent years, Henriksen has had roles in the 1995 feature/Sharon Stone vehicle The Quick and the Dead.
Henriksen continues to be a solid presence as he will play in Scream 3 ('99) and voice-over work in the Disney's Tarzan ('99).
Currently, Henriksen also has a role in the Chris Carter-created television series "Millenium."
