William Fichtner earned his first break on As the World Turns, serving a seven-year stint on the show beginning in 1987. In 1992, Fichtner made his film debut in Malcolm X, and later appeared on one season of Grace Under Fire in 1994. That same year, Fichtner expanded his filmography with a role in Quiz Show. Since then, the New York-born actor has appeared in several high-profile films, including 1995's Heat, 1997's Contact and 1998's Armageddon.
