Description

Whale Rider is the story of a young Maori girl who defies gender limitations to become a whale rider, a position normally reserved for powerful male tribe members. Written and directed by Niki Caro, the New Zealander film is adapted from Witi Ihimaera's novel. The cast includes Keisha Castle-Hughes and Rawiri Paratene.
