Newbie question about Advanced Trading
It seems that no matter what I set the Limit Price as, selling, shorting, covering, etc..set to expire at end of day (is that midight or the 2am reset?)...no matter how I do it...the order exceutes immediately.
For instance...SCARF is currently $16.68 a share....I placed an order to buy with a Limit Price of 17.50. The order excuted immediately.
I tried shorting the same stock (at same price per share...16.68) to see what would happen, setting my shorted Limit Price to 16.00. Order excuted immediately!
Im confused...do I have it ass backwards (rather not keep wastuing 1% trans fee to figure this out out) or is this not even an option to do here. It seems that is the purpose of setting a Limit Price, but it just excutes all my orders right away, no matter what I do.
Can anyone help me figure this out (trying to set up auto buys/sells/shorts/covers at certain prices during the day?)
