A question about shorting and covering.

Lets say I buy a penny stock worth 10 cents, it goes up to 25 cents, thinking it will go go back down again, can I just short it for the profit and when it goes down again my profit grows. Then once it is low again cover it and do all over. Or do i have to sell each time and rebuy as a short or buy? Kind of confusing I know. Thanks.
