#1 Movie Prediction Contest - Jan-Jun 2017 is now open. Entries must be in by December 15.
The contest is simple - just pick what you think will be the #1 movie for each weekend from the July 4 weekend to the end of 2016. Whoever has the most correct picks at the end of the year wins the contest.
To enter, click on this ***link*** and complete the survey form by predicting the #1 movie for each weekend over the period from January to June 2017. After you click 'Submit', a thankyou note will appear on-screen with a link that will allow you to edit your picks. Save the link as you will not be able to recover it later.
Entries close on Thursday December 15. This is so knowledge of SW16's opening does not affect your picks.
How the contest works is mostly the same as last time:
Completing the survey:
· One entry per person. Please enter using the handle that you normally use on the HSX boards.
· You have to complete an entry for every question in the survey.
· Survey options have been selected using the release schedules on HSX and BOM. Please consider likely release date changes when making your picks - particularly for WWZ2.
· If the movie you think will be #1 for a given weekend is not among the survey options, please select “Other” and enter the relevant HSX moviestock ticker symbol as your answer.
· After you complete the survey, you will get a thank you note with a link that will allow you to edit your response. You won’t be access this link later, so bookmark it if you want to reserve the right to change your mind.
· You can edit your picks until midnight PST Thursday, December 15.
Results:
· The #1 movie for each weekend will be determined using actual box office numbers.
· The relevant dates for each weekend are specified in the survey, and are for three day weekends unless otherwise specified. The MLK Day and Presidents Day weekends are four-day Friday to Monday weekends
· A late release date changes affected your picks? Too bad for you. On this, please pay special attention to WWZ2.
Updates:
· All contest updates will be made on the Playing & Trading Strategy Board.
· After the entry period is closed, I will post a link to a Google Sheets spreadsheet that will be open to anyone. This will allow you to see everyone’s picks, the results for each weekend and a contest leaderboard. The spreadsheet will be updated on a weekly basis.
· I will post a contest update on the board every four weeks or so. Please don’t add to this with your own updates.
