Unfortunately, this isn't the game I wanted to play
Odd that the original notion of HSX was betting on the movies (and actors) that you felt would do well, and that has all disentegrated into betting on the movies you think will be streamed.
While it's still a challenge to figure out which will do what, I find myself not as engaged when betting on failure versus success.
A great cast and a strong script means nothing in the face of this Pandemic, and I get that much has changed and that some of these issues will persist permanently. From my perspective "buy and hold" has been crushed, and "buy on the rumor and buy more on the news" is the obvious strategy given how little control we, the moviegoing public, has on the future of the industry.
If I continue to play I think "day trading" a title has more merit than sitting on a pile of movies for several months. Holding stocks now being a liability due to the sudden announcement from an Owning Studio that they're streaming all their titles for the forseeable future. Warner has changed the nature of film, and the nature of HSX, and those that continue to take part should question existing strategies.
