My experience with The Cantor Exchange...

Posted by: RazorHawk on Jul 21, 08:04 in response to Antibody's post All the info should be on Cantor, there are no secrets.

I went to the Cantor Exchange webpage to see how it would work and if I would be interested in playing for real money in the future.  Going to their website (about a month ago) I found absolutely no information about how the Cantor Exchange worked.  No rules.  No minimum investments.  No explaination on how things worked or how the game was played.

The only way I could gain access to any information about how the Cantor Exchange works was to sign up for a free "test account" to practice with.  Only thing was that after entering all my personal information to get a test account I was told that a "sign up specialist" would be contacting soon thru e-mail to give me my login and password info. 2 weeks later I finally recieved that email telling me I was being ALLOWED to have a practice account but it was on a limited time basis (think it was 2 months) and then it would expire.

Yeah... that is just a little too much work for me to take a peek at a game to see if it is worth my time.  Dont know why test accounts have expiration dates (for a game that isnt even up and running) or why I have to wait 2 weeks for login and password info.

Guess I won't be playing the Cantor Exchange anytime soon ...all the free time I had to check it out and see if it was worth it was spent filling out forms and waiting for login info ...all I wanted to see was where money was made or lost ...how stocks were bought and sold

does it matter with real money {nm} arun750 Dec 18, 20:09

**** wow that article is a MUST READ for all players: discusses why the change was made, and how they intend to keep moving forward. islander Jul 20, 09:22

Are there enough people who play badly for HSX to make money off their losses? angusmctrader Jul 20, 10:12

Heh read the boards...yeah, there are. But, I just have the feeling that the structure of Cantor won't allow for "easy money" without a lot Catzan Jul 20, 10:31

If you think HSX IPO prices are high, there won't be discounted IPO pricing on Cantor. No artifical halt and adjust either. {nm} Antibody Jul 20, 12:11

DMac...can you share at all any info on how a movie stock will earn $$..buy low, sell high? Will there be any type of adjusts, etc?? {nm} Flash Jul 20, 16:20

Sorry to hear that. They've accepted hundreds of beta testers, I guess I took my access for granted. {nm} Antibody Jul 21, 10:17

OK, I just didn't know if YOU could share any basic info on it, etc....thanks. {nm} Flash Jul 21, 08:29

Sounded like you were asking for 'tips'. Movies on CE are priced the same as HSX, 4 wide weekends of box office. {nm} Antibody Jul 21, 10:14

what is upper limit and lower limits that Melanie keeps talking about? {nm} RazorHawk Jul 21, 12:24

Upper and lower limit refers to the maximum a contract's price can move in one day. HSX Support Jul 21, 18:29

No...was just looking for more basic info on how stocks would be priced, movement features, adjusts, etc. Flash Jul 22, 12:53

There will be no adjusts. futurefilm Jul 20, 16:35

there wasn't eough liquidity for me to continue trading sneak Jul 26, 12:38

As a trader, I vehemently disagree with his assessment that the new drop-down trading box is an "improvement". IMO, it sucks. grory Jul 20, 11:49

I agree about the new trade box. Sucks. As for the speed, though, it's now good for me. But I'm a Firefix user, and some have said that make angusmctrader Jul 21, 06:51

Awww...I wanted to know his secrets! No one wants to give their secrets away...sheesh... Catzan Jul 20, 10:34

aww cat stop pretending that you're not Alex :D {nm} tealfan Jul 20, 11:58

I've toyed around a bit with the beta, and it's vastly different {nm} Chefbobcat Jul 20, 11:52

Had received an email inviting me.. Thought it was a scam so deleted it.. do not trust these sure way of making $$ {nm} Sabarth Jul 21, 10:23
