I short almost every IPO....most go down until there is real news.
In every Put/Call pair, there is always one that delists at zero. Just short the right one.
Concepts are great to short, especially if they get delisted quickly.
Starbonds are obvious.

There is a lot of money to be made in shorts. And shorting can lead to freeing up cash with reshorting.
HOWEVER, there was once a fund, KAMAL, run by a long time player, Mrs Kamal, who longed everything. Even if the stock was sinking, she did not sell, and did not short. If a movie fit her theme, she bought it and stayed with it. It took a long time for the fund to delist, as a result. What I am trying to say is that Long and Short are part of the gaime and only playing shorts is very limitingl
As a fund manager, I try to maximize gains and want to get to 100 as quickly as possible.
Any theme, which limits the choice of securities, would work. I just think that saying any and all securities are in play, as long as they are shorts, may not be limiting enough, but that would not be my call.
