Nearly 20 years after starring in Tony Scott's "True Romance," Patricia Arquette is set to work with the helmer's son, as she has agreed to play Jeff Buckley's mother, Mary Guibert, in Jake Scott's untitled biopic of the late musician.
Reeve Carney ("Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark") is set to play the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, who tragically drowned at age 30 in 1997. His father, musician Tim Buckley, died at age 28 of a drug overdose.
In what amounts to a cameo, Arquette will be seen in both flashback and present day as Guibert, who convinces her son to attend his father's 1991 tribute concert "Greetings From Tim Buckley," which is widely recognized as Jeff Buckley's first real public appearance in New York.
