here's a tip: This is the absolute greatest weekend in the world to go to the Arclight Hollywood!

After my movie today, which was downtown, I went to Amoeba. So I walk over to Arclight to use the facilities. There's nobody there! The place is completely empty! Sure enough: No AVNGR. A perfect time to go to that theater, it's pretty quiet there this weekend lol. I'd guess that Arclight is showing AVNGR at their other locations, but evidently not in the DOME or at their Hollywood facility at all.

Saw it today. If the numbers hold I must say, VERY disappointing that this movie will hold the weekend record. Good Lord. goodvibe61 May 05, 17:31

It's not like having an "unworthy film" as the opening weekend record holder is anything new. Here are the last 10 record holders. Roger More May 05, 17:44

It is a better movie than at least six if now seven of those {nm} Dales May 05, 17:48

A Twilight film would put the cherry (figuratively) atop that cake. What a statement concerning the American movie audience. DTXbro May 05, 18:29

You sound like me after I saw Dark Knight {nm} JDolphin May 05, 17:45

The Dark Knight was a great movie. Did you think the Avengers was better? {nm} darknightz May 05, 17:53

DK was very underwhelming - a seen it all before and too over the top - haven't seen Avengers yet - loved Iron Man 1 {nm} JDolphin May 05, 17:58

Funny, that was my reaction to Avatar. Iron Man 1 was nice, yes, but I don't see it as a better movie than TDK. darknightz May 05, 18:05

My reaction to Avatar was 10 times worse DK C (maybe C-), Avatar F------ (Iron Man 1 - A) {nm} JDolphin May 05, 18:17

haha, different people, different values I suppose. {nm} darknightz May 05, 18:25

The Dark Knight was a good movie that was around 30-40 minutes longer than it should have been. Ending the film after Joker's death would LuCiFeR May 05, 17:59

ummm.... the Joker didn't die. I guess I can see how some might feel the ending was lacking {nm} darknightz May 05, 18:02

Death as in he won't be back in another Batman movie anytime soon after Ledger's brilliant performance. Should have specified. {nm} LuCiFeR May 05, 19:11

I thought you posted early this morning that your kids saw Avengers last night and thought it was funny? {nm} RHAWK May 05, 17:49

Funny at times (spoilers) Buy StarBond Fund 18 May 05, 20:09

I dont think u like this kind of genre.. Probably u are not the targeted audience.. U shouldn't force yourself to go next time ;-) {nm} karspov May 05, 18:47

Yes and no. I LOVE Comic Books and well done CB Movies. No, I'm not the target audience. I had a brief conversation with Hollywood recently: goodvibe61 May 06, 01:57

wow. you really hated the film? I LOVED it. {nm} kydem May 05, 19:28

What'd i miss? nicadmous May 05, 20:43

Any CHARACTER. There's zero at stake. We know exactly what's gonna happen in this movie. And the villain was truly weak. {nm} goodvibe61 May 06, 01:50

Any character? nicadmous May 06, 10:57

Yeah, aside from a decent climax and a few funny parts, The Avengers was bad. Joss Whedon is a pretty terrible director. jmr May 05, 21:30

Director, Characters, Acting were awesome. It's the "Save the world from aliens" trope gets old. {nm} arf May 05, 22:17

It'll be old when it opens to 30m on the way to a sub 100m run...then you won't see it anymore. ;-) {nm} Catzan May 05, 23:24

Loved this movie. I will see it again in the theater and I NEVER do that. It was that good. Power87 May 06, 01:19

Michael Bay's signature style? Just curious, what is his style? lol =P {nm} nicadmous May 06, 11:03
