I get a newsletter each week at work from reelsource.com, and have noticed that it contains some interesting demo information. I'm not sure if it is publicly avialable online, so I thought I would share it here.

Below is a summary from the newsletter...

"Summary: "The Great Gatsby" campaign is ramping up with colorful posters, TV commercials, magazine spreads and growing buzz about the soundtrack with includes Jay-Z, Jack White and many more. This film will be very re-view driven, so it could be a real gamble for Warner Bros. particularly with a reported $100 million budget. So far the film is tracking highest with adult women. "Star Trek: Into Darkness" is as close to a sure thing as you can get this summer. The tracking is rock solid across all quadrants and it is on track to open in the $95 million + range. "Man of Steel" is another comic book film and is poised to be a hit. After the disappointment of the 2006 reboot, ex-pectations are high that this one will re-launch the valuable franchise. The involvement of producer Christopher No-lan should ensure success. "The Hangover Part 3" is also going full guns with posters and commercials that seem to promise that the series will go out with a bang. "The Lone Ranger" is a wild card that could go either way. Early tracking is moderate, but it should become clearer as the film draws closer to release."

Hope you all find this helpful...

was this done with Iron man 3 as a viewing option for cinemagoers? {nm} tatoufan May 06, 10:29

my comment was directed towards Gatsby {nm} tatoufan May 06, 10:30

No, there are caveats. {nm} Antibody May 06, 10:41

I meant no caveats. Do you plan to see movie A, period. {nm} Antibody May 06, 10:43

Thanks Antibody. {nm} tatoufan May 06, 11:12

thanks for this! {nm} NuWallflower May 06, 10:42

Cool! {nm} thatpj May 06, 10:50

Just noticed they have OW predictions too: GATSB 25, TREK2 94, SUPR2 125, HNOV3 90, LONER 50 {nm} whitewalls May 06, 11:06

I don't know about anyone else, but that Trek # is really surprising. NuWallflower May 06, 12:12

thats GATSB number is incorrect. Its low 30's {nm} Moviesnob May 06, 12:14

According to the May 5th Newsletter it's 25m /Shrug {nm} whitewalls May 06, 12:17

if you're giving out these numbers, you're going to need to be accurate. I just saw their newsletter for this week and its not 25 Moviesnob May 06, 12:55

the numbers on the first page is what we use and what we tag. And we dont give out the specific number since its a subscription service {nm} Moviesnob May 06, 12:57

Thanks for the heads up, I see the section you're talking about. whitewalls May 06, 13:11

I honestly dont know why the number would be different. Maybe they use more of their gut for the final prediction? {nm} Moviesnob May 06, 13:30

Kinda bizarre, but not a huge deal. Thanks for the heads up =) {nm} whitewalls May 06, 13:33

tagging RS: [GATSB] low 30's {nm} Oleg Max May 07, 07:23

Still think it's being underestimated. Definitely will do over $100m IMO and I expect it to do notably better than that yet. {nm} MiyazakiFan May 06, 13:19

With IRNM3 doing $174M+, one would think $100M+ would be doable for TREK2. But among the base, I do sense some Khan Again ho-hum. {nm} KalElFan May 06, 17:06
