BSNT2 Bad Santa 2 to start filming next year

Billy Bob Thornton says that a sequel to the 2003 classic Bad Santa will begin filming in 2014.
Thornton, 58, who played the boozy Father Christmas who was actually a professional robber called Willie T Stokes, said in a Q&A with The Observer: "It's been very hard trying to get the script right. We've been through three or four drafts but we're getting real close. Then there's the business dealings to sort out, all the stuff I don't understand. But one way or another, the sequel will happen and the idea is to shoot it next year. We know we'll never beat the first film but we'll get as close as we can."
Thornton, who admitted he had been afraid of making the original film, is presently making a comedy called The Judge.
The original Bad Santa, a terrific black comedy, was directed by Terry Zwigoff. There were numerous disagreements over the movie and Zwigoff later released a director's cut version. When asked about the prospect of a Bad Santa 2, he said: "I have no interest in sequels."
