And at the Jack White concert I went to a few months ago, they secured all devices in the lobby. No devices allowed in the theater.
What they did was, they took your phone/device and locked it in a pouch, which they gave back to you. You couldn't unlock the thing without going back into the lobby, where they unlocked it for you. You could then use it, re-pouch it, and it was locked again until you left.
There were zero Iphones in the crowd. Amazingly enough, everyone survived.
I would totally go for that in a movie theater. That would be AWESOME.
If you had that, plus the noise enforcement, I'd pay the extra dough, no problem.
That would be a PREMIUM experience; not that I can get a sno-cone or a chimi changa at the theater. I'm amazed that exhibitors haven't figured this out yet.
