Congrats! I think I'll make it in less than 10 years, but then I've only played actively in about 3 of those. Here is what happened, briefly
Created the port in January 2001, after being made aware of the site by a weekly listing of the coolest sites on the web (I don't believe there are newsletters like that anymore.. ?)
Started actively playing it over a year later.
Quite active in late 2002 and all of 2003, active in 2004 until shorting PASON, plus other stuff, broke my spirit - or at least active interest in the game.
Dabbled a bit in the years 2004 - 2008, in small jumps and starts.
Picked up the port seriously in mid March 2009, when it was at 199M. At this point I had for the first time in my life gotten a personal computer at home. (Yup. Until then I had only accessed the internet at the university, at workplaces and occasionally at friends' places, net cafés etc - I had a feeling getting one at home would make me less social, and somewhat addicted, and I was more or less right. But did it do wonders to my HSX port? Quite certainly!)
Passed 770M at reset last night, on my way to 1 billion well before the tenth anniversary of my port (which will be in January) - since I made darn near 500M in the exact year after I picked it up at 199M, and have made almost 60M in the last month.. And NOW we are entering the season where money is actually made, big time! Hope to get into the top 100 traders list several times during the summer. I believe my highest placing so far was 27(?) - some weeks ago.
