I have to hand it to Edgar Wright; the guy truly knows his way around rock, pop, and soul. This movie is like a love letter to the part of my heart that digs the lighter side of the original British Invasion. it's chalk full of great tracks.
The Kinks. Cilla Black. Sandie Shaw. The Who. Dusty Springfield.
My goodness. Awesome. And the songs do go a long way toward adding tone to several scenes.
The movie is okay; the soundtrack, just great. If you don't know the songs that well, you'll wish you were sitting there with Shazam locked and loaded.
