Usually on Christmas day, the family goes off to a local cineplex to see a new movie. Obviously this time around the Spiderman movie is pretty unavoidable.
But are we going to like it?
I don't think any of us (my wife, my two stepsons and I) have seen a Spiderman movie since Tobey Maguire; maybe the first Garfield movie, but I personally remember zero about it if I did see it.
The only thing i remember about the Tobey Maguire movies was who played the villain in the first two, i know that. Otherwise, i remember zilch. And it's safe to say my family knows less.
So will that have an impact on our viewing experience?
How stand alone is the movie? Does it tell a self contained story that an audience relatively unfamiliar with the sony movies or the MCU will be satisfied from? Or do we have to know the MCU world to "get" it?
I think the other options tomorrow based on the three of them are:
Nightmare Alley
West Side Story
House of Gucci
Licorice Pizza (wife and I have seen this, don't prefer to have a revisit at this point).
I guess the main thing, how "inside" a movie is it, aAnd how much are we going to enjoy it?
Thanks!
