in response to Antibody's post I meant Generations
What caused this Spider-Man film to perform so strongly?

I've always found it curious that Spiderman keeps getting rebooted again and again, and always finds a way to make truckloads of money

It was combination of a few factors. This is the first film that fells "like an event" and not watered down or compromised.

The film also delivers for fans big, and doesn't tell them to just accpet changes that limits their own fandom.

I don't think this has ever been done before, combine 3 different timelines/universe into one.

Should we screen it at Delta House if we have not seen the two predecessors? Or should we find the others first? Thank you. {nm}

You should watch the previous two to get the full impact. Helps to have knowledge from the Maguire and Garfield films as well.

Sounds like an enormous investment for a comic book movie, but maybe. Thanks! {nm}
