Belle is such a great movie and I hope that GKIDS didn't flub its release
Qualifying runs almost always doom animated films from being seen or known by enough people to get the name recognition required to sneak in there.. obviously there are some exceptions, but they're rare. It could still get an Oscar nomination but the precursor awards are not in its favor. Now I worry that Covid will hurt its box office. :( I know a few people who have decided to cancel their tickets for this weekend due to understandable concerns.
It's nice to see the story on the main page about it getting a good number of theaters, but it just seems like anything not Spider-Man is doomed at the moment and if they'd put this out in late November/early December, it could have had a similar number of theaters and likely a better chance at success.
