According to Deadline, regular Batman tickets were cheaper than NWH
Average ticket prices were higher, but they are likely calculating this by taking the gross and dividing it by the number of tickets sold. I'd imagine fewer children went to see The Batman, which means fewer child tickets sold, which will bring the average price up. People seeing it on premium screens will also bring the average price up. Though I'm sure regular prices will go up due to inflation. The thing is, theaters are incentivized to raised popcorn prices instead. Ticket revenues are split with the studio, close to 50/50. But food revenues stay in the theater. If ticket prices go up $1, theaters see about 50 cents. If they raise popcorn prices $1, they get the full dollar.
So ticket prices tend to be artificially deflated, as theaters have an incentive to get butts in seats as cheaply as possible, because they are really just popcorn vendors.
