Just imagine: giving these theatrical killers your money every time you walk in. Sends a chill down my spine.
Life sure can be rough. The s*&t you love keeps getting taken away from you. And then sometimes, that same s&*t that's gone gets flaunted in front of you. Remember what this was? Here's what it is now.......
I really, truly loved this place. Is there anyone on the board here who can say they'd been there more? I'd say I've seen a few hundred films there. Definitely a tough one. I've met some incredible people there. Had some thrilling times too ( a one on one with Harrison Ford in the front walkway was unforgettable, as was a classic "who's on first?" with PTA AND QT! Thanks guys ).
It's rough.
So, now that the Trix has a movie theater on both coasts that they can do whatever they want with, will they have to do anything more, ever, for their product to get the Award consideration?
My assumption is they can tell the Academy whatever they want regarding screenings and how their product qualifies. They can say, "hey, people walked in (no report on anyone paying though), then stayed for at least 5 minutes. That's a screening". LOL. No box office was reported in the "screening" of this product.
Heaven help us.

Netflix isn't the only one programming it. American Cinematheque should run the lion's share of screenings Aug 30, 16:02
I'm aware. I was a Cinematheque member for years. Understanding that is why it hurts even more. {nm} Aug 30, 16:41

You'd actually rather the thousands of people who go to a every year stay at home than let it get saved Aug 30, 17:01

So: you're claiming I don't donate to the Cinematheque. You don't have any idea what you're talking about. Aug 30, 20:48
