It's in reference to a star bond that is NOT scheduled to adjust any time soon. As an example
Say you have a bond. It has not adjusted in more than six months, and that actor does not have any movie in production, or scheduled. There's nothing coming up for that actor, so the bond will not be adjusting any time soon.
In that case, if the actor is not working much, the you'd think the natural tendancy for that bond would be to move downward. Why would people invest in the bond if there's not much future in it? So you'd think it would move down, that people would sell it to invest their $$ in something different. So you hold the bond short, and then for no reason that makes sense, the bond starts moving upward. And you're holding the bond short, thinking "well, it's gotta come back down, why would anyone be buying it?", and then it keeps going up some more, and you lose some more.
That's the kind of apparent ramdomness I'm speaking of.

I hold about 600 bonds, which covers most of the bonds with an adjust scheduled, as well as potential dead delists. Feb 06, 13:31
