OK, here are the six movies in question. The next movie to delist and the movie that will drop as a result are the ones to watch:
So, open a browser, and get a calculator. We'll do this exactly, then show you a shortcut.
Outlander will drop and HP will be added. Note that all movies for this purpose are CAPPED at 250. that means that no matter what a movie box office is, there will never be more than 250 taken into consideration for the TAG adjust.
OK, we open each of the stocks and look at how much money they have made. Not the delist price, but the actual "to date" amount. (up to 250 of course). When we do this, we find the following amounts:
Outlander - 160 641
Limits of control - 425 025
NY I love you - 1 585 859
Oxford Murders - 3 607
HPOT7 - 257 672 721 (but doesn't matter cause it's over the cap).
In each case, 1 million of Box office = 1H$, therefore these movies are each worth 0.16, 0.42, 1.59, 0.01 (rounded up) and 250
Add em up and take the average = current tag (0.16+.42+1.59+.01+250)/5= 50.43
Drop outlander and add the next HP movie (250) = adjust. (0.42+1.59+0.01+250+250)/5= 100.40
If you want actual complete tag, don't do the 1million = 1H$ conversion first.
-------------------------------------
Now the quick rule of thumb: Find the difference between the movie that is dropping and the one being added: 0.16 and 250 = difference of 249.84. Divide this difference by 5. =49.96 add that to the Current Tag and we get the new adjust (+/-):
49.96+50.46 = 100.42 (if you compare that approximation to the actual, you will see its over by 0.02 = close enough in a pinch).
That's all I have. Good luck.
