Peter Strzok, the former deputy head of counterintelligence at the FBI, regarding the Trump Russia probe expressed a "gut sense and concern there's no there [there]." Strzok also stated that, "the odds are nothing" truly bombastic will result from the case.
He also texted FBI lawyer Lisa Page that he feels "a sense of unfinished business" over having "unleashed" the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails.
Peter Strzok also stated, "Now I need to fix it and finish it."
Strzok was also an FBI official who was removed from special counsel Robert S. Mueller III's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election over politically charged texts disparaging President Trump.
The FBI also did not save five months worth of texts between Peter Strozk and Lisa Page beginning in mid-December 2016 and ending on the day that Mueller was appointed as special counsel.
Lisa Page replied, ""we can't work closely on another case again."
Peter Strozk and Lisa Page were having an affair during the period they were exchanging the messages in question.
