I just read one opinion/analysis piece advancing the theory that this year's election results guarentee Trump's re-election in 2020

The theory being that with Congress split in party control and Democratic "fervor" to investigate and twart Trump any and every way they can nothing will get done legislatively. Meanwhile Trump will continue to scream "Witch Hunt" on social media which all the House investigations will play right into. Which will cause Trump's base to rally and grow going into the 2020 election.

Dems will flip the U.S House of Reps, paving way for true legislative oversight of POTUS and the executive branch {nm} slipping jimmy Nov 06, 21:22

Senate looks like a mess tho. Will be tough for 2020 {nm} Moviesnob Nov 07, 06:51

this was always going to be a hard senate lift for Dems given the kind of states they were defending in. the map in 2020 is frendlier slipping jimmy Nov 07, 07:09

agree and 2020 its friendlier, but not that friendly. i think 4 seats might be too much. Then again the GOP picked up 9 seats in 2014 {nm} Moviesnob Nov 07, 08:11

he only won the electoral college by 75k votes across MI, WI, and PA. all of them swung back to Dems last night, some decisively slipping jimmy Nov 07, 14:45

Nothing is inevitable here. {nm} RogerMore Nov 07, 20:37
