I'd like to echo Toby's thought about the firefox extentions. Several months ago, I would receive a very similar message when loading a lot of wired.com's pages.  I turned off all my extentions and it was fine.  Eventually I think I narrowed it down to AdBlocker, so if youy are running that one try whitelisting hsx.com and see if that helps!

Nowadays I just run my operations in chrome!
