Jennifer Jason Leigh and Alan Cumming will both direct and star in low-budget drama called The Anniversary Party for Fine Line Features. Leigh and Cumming previously worked together on the hit, Broadway musical Cabaret as Sally Bowles and the master of ceremonies, for which Cumming earned his first Tony award in 1998.
Hollywood names like Parker Posey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin Kline, Phoebe Cates and John C. Reily will make up part of the cast. Written by Leigh and Cumming, the film tells the story of 24 hours in the life of a couple who get back together after being separated for a year. To celebrate, they decide to host a sixth anniversary party and invite some close friends. The party turns from a joyous occasion into a sensual and dangerous game of 'adult' truth or dare.
The production of the film begins July 2000 in Los Angeles.
