The French comedy Avenue Montaigne represent France in this year’s Oscar race. Set around France’s fashion district, the ensemble comedy focuses on a TV actress, a classical musician and an art collector. Their business unfolds at a café where a young waitress attends to them. Cecile de France, Claude Brasseur, Valerie Lermercier, Albert Dupontel, Christopher Thompson and Sydney Pollack star in the film. Director Daniele Thompson co-wrote the screenplay with her son Christopher.
