The Japanese manga classic Ghost in the Shell will become a live-action 3-D film from DreamWorks. The futuristic thriller centers on the covert department of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that ferrets out technology related crimes. Created in 1989 by Masamune Shirow, the story was adapted into a 1995 animated film, which inspired The Matrix. Laeta Kalogridis scripts the adaptation.
