1+1=2...

Posted by: RazorHawk on Feb 05, 07:16 in response to Peakers' post Endless slide :-(

You are behaving a certain way + HSX market is behaving a certain way = you are losing money

1+1 = 2

You do not want to lose money, so you need to change the equation.

2+1=3

You investment strategy does not seem to be working so you should come up with a different plan.  It is likely that the HSX market has changed recently (likely due to no more weekend adjusts) and your current strategy does not fit well with the recent changes.

You should pretend that each of your stock investments at HSX is like investing in a company in real life.  Each investment should be making you a profit or have a path to making you a profit or you should get rid of it and find other investments that will make you money.

If the stocks are going the opposite way than you have invested it means that something is going on.  The market has shifted and you haven't noticed yet and/or there is news about the stocks that you are not up to date on.  There are 3 ways to fix the situation, study the market and see what has changed or research the stocks you are having problems with and see if there is any news that you were not aware of, or dump the problem stocks and reinvest the money in other stocks.

This is general advice that can apply to any size port.  It is harder to get more specific without knowing more about you (what your current strategy is, how often you play HSX. your knowledge of the industry, your knowledge of the game, etc..)

Good Luck!

he doesn't daytrade... he stays up all night every night and does massive reset trading (which he always fails to mention) {nm} RazorHawk Feb 05, 20:34

Sheer Delusional Nonsense. {nm} Captain Obvious Feb 05, 23:31

You are consistently the top 1 or 2 Trader by Volume at Reset. This is a fact. {nm} Antibody Feb 06, 11:05

Tuesday - RotoHockey 4,400,000 stocks traded reset to 4:15am PST (= 44 moviestocks traded at max holdings) RazorHawk Feb 07, 04:18

The only way for him to be right is if he stops reset trading. Irony. {nm} Antibody Feb 07, 10:18

The 'Sheer Delusional Nonsense' was Aimed at the First Part - 'He Doesn't Day-Trade'. Don't 'Stay Up All Night' either. {nm} RotoHockey2013MainPort Feb 07, 15:28

Unique? No. Proprietary, absolutely not. You didn't invent it. I was doing it long before you. I just don't trade as much as you... {nm} ndmaster Feb 05, 21:10

ROTO SHORT STRATEGY = Hold everything the right way = The aim of the game srrichardson Feb 06, 07:32

No one questioning that. Being "Unique Proprietary" is utter nonsense and neither this is a strategy. Just pure unskilled and untalented DiNar0 Feb 06, 12:25
