Not manipulation in any way, shape, or form . . .

Posted by: Weyland-Yutani (a.k.a syamaz) on Sep 04, 02:14 in response to Vashta Nerada's post The D.Mac/TROAD Debacle

D.Mac's comment was not manipulation is any way, shape, or form.  The posting of the review was just the posting of publicly-available information that contributes to the formantion of an "efficient" stock price.  No inside information was swamped.  No secrets were revealed.  If the stock price declined then it was due to traders seeking to take advantage of other traders who had a knee-jerk reaction to a new post or who felt that the stock was overpriced anyway.  To suggest that D.Mac tried to manipulate a stock to the downside by making his post is insane and displays a fundamental misunderstanding of the stock trading system.  The stock price is the amalgamation of all publicly-available information and all D.Mac did was notify those who had not already known of the bad review that such a review existed.  He did us all a public service by making sure that all HSX traders were up-to-date on the most recent info on a particular security on the exchange.  I say thank you D.Mac and please keep up the good work.  I, for one, do not have the time to peruse the trades and I thank you for all the information you can provide.

96% of the people living in the United States who want to see TROAD will never read Variety. That's just one opinion. {nm} secretstalker Sep 03, 19:07

Precisely. {nm} Vashta Nerada Sep 03, 19:11

I'd express my opinion on this post, but seeing as no other opinions are posted yet, maybe I shouldn't? Yes, flawless logic. Sorry, had to Perfection Sep 03, 19:09

The Variety review was news-worthy because it was FIRST of a highly-anticipated movie. {nm} Antibody Sep 03, 19:33

The fact that it has generated responses from Playlist, Jeffery Wells and other bloggers makes it even more news relevant. {nm} Antibody Sep 03, 19:40

98% of the people living in the United States who want to see TROAD will never read either of those blogs. {nm} secretstalker Sep 03, 20:02

I think the fact that it generated responses on this board says a lot more. {nm} Vashta Nerada Sep 03, 22:41

Some people would find that Variety, THR and Playlist all don't think TROAD is a commercial film useful information. {nm} Antibody Sep 04, 09:31

I read a reviews of it last year and a couple this year. Last october Joblo said, "THE ROAD easily makes it into my top 5 thus far (2008)" Shrike Sep 04, 06:43

Those were unfinished cuts last year. {nm} Antibody Sep 04, 09:29

I don't care that the stock moved. Playing the players is an age old trading practice around here. What I do care about is him not taking Vashta Nerada Sep 03, 22:38
