ERC: AVENGERS scored $19M on Monday. Total haul is now $226M grammar May 08, 12:12

THE AVENGERS has already surpassed the worldwide totals of IRON MAN ($585M), IRON MAN 2 ($624M), THOR ($449M) & CAP. AMERICA ($364M). {nm} grammar May 08, 12:14

The link says $18,898,999 {nm} Antibody May 08, 12:19

Ever hear of 'rounding off'? It's all the rage, all the cool kids are doing it these days. {nm} Tanker May 08, 12:32

rounding would be $18.9 no? {nm} Oleg Max May 08, 12:33

Math is hard. {nm} Antibody May 08, 12:34

He hasn't gone as far as fractions and decimals yet. They're harder. {nm} elchan May 08, 12:38

I'm just stunned DMac let the $585M figure posted for Iron Man slide when it was really $585,174,222. {nm} Tanker May 08, 12:40

Because 19M was the intial estimate which was tagged to AVNGR hours ago. $18.9M is the actual. {nm} Antibody May 08, 12:41

I thought it was $18,898,999 but I could be wrong. {nm} Tanker May 08, 12:44

I realize I've been gone for a long time...but I still think you ought to bust out the Scribble-hammer!!! Muahaha! {nm} Sammy Jankis May 08, 13:46

Depends on how far you want to round off. {nm} Tanker May 08, 12:35

I guess the next rounding off is 20M, and after that, zero. :) {nm} second gary May 08, 12:46

Nah, let's not carry it too far. ;P {nm} Tanker May 08, 12:51

42 attempts of rounding it myself, and I got 18.9 million each time....except that one where I ended up with 31.4 {nm} Trentacus May 09, 08:55

hah .. I just copied ERC's post. Must have changed .. {nm} grammar May 08, 14:01

That is $5.5M less than The Dark Knight's 1st Monday (day 4) - not promising for legs since The Dark Knight delisted at 2.78 multiplier. {nm} fourstars May 08, 12:37

How does it compare to HGAME, a more apt comparison? {nm} Tanker May 08, 12:38

-66.9% for Avengers (Sun to Mon) vs. -69% for Hunger Games (Sun to Mon) {nm} fourstars May 08, 12:43

That's during mid-summer when school is out. Antibody May 08, 12:40

True but since the Dark Knight only got to a 2.78 multiplier, TDK numbers would be a breakeven point for whether The Avengers have legs. fourstars May 08, 12:42

Not necessarily. AVNGR also gets an extra box office day. RogerMore had a good breakdown. Antibody May 08, 12:46

That breakdown supports my point. fourstars May 08, 12:52
