This place is like a kindergarten at times.
Some people seem to hold grudges, and can't seem to let them go, no matter what.
The barber bird here is painting himself more and more like a such one, but there are a few others as well.
At some point you say something that hurts their feelings, or otherwise offends them.
And then, no matter what you do later, they'll always nurse that grudge. You think you're cool, when in reality, they're just sitting around waiting for an opportunity when they see it fit to sling some mud at you again.
And God help you if some others do before they get around to it - then you're talking pile-on.
The bird needs to get some self-irony. There just isn't any irony or playfullness to him at all. He means these things, and he really takes them seriously. It's quite incredible.
But disregarding the obvious self-esteem issues on some people, or proximity to autism or whatever, I've tried to be cool with this salt statue (socially speaking), to no avail. It was unnecessary of him to call me out by name, but when he chooses to do so, there is no other option than to take seriously that he chose to do so. After all, it is by his own choosing that absolutely everything he says is to be taken seriously. When he says something, he means it.
That's the image he's pushing so very hard for, anyways - in all his mistakenness.
