It's sad. Actresses are under crazy pressure to get surgery and stay "viable," but she's lost what was distinctive

and therefore what was memorable and marketable about her face. The poor woman.

She clearly believed (and may have been made to believe) that she needed work done to keep her career from ending. But this work will probably end her career; when moviegoers stop recognizing you, you're not a star anymore. No one will see her face and say, "Hey, there's that person who was so good in (name movie here)."

it's also an ugly reminder that plastic surgeons are good at doing, and recommending, procedures to give you a more generic (oh, excuse me, more "classical") look, but those surgeons aren't well prepared to protect (or even recognize) attractive features that are even slightly off-beat.

WOW.... WTH {nm} Dorfman Oct 21, 18:16

everyone ages. pointing out that someone ages badly is just cruel imo {nm} Moviesnob Oct 21, 19:02

I think she looks fine for a woman her age. Attractive, actually. BUT - she does NOT look like Renee Zellweger, which is the point here. {nm} BSmurf Oct 21, 19:34

It's not the aging, it's just how unrecognizable she looks. {nm} Dorfman Oct 22, 05:55

I genuinely thought it was Robin Wright and they had made a **** up. I had a nice arguement with the wife over the error. {nm} TheMackenzie Oct 22, 03:17

Apparentlyit's politically incorrect to comment on bad plastic surgery because it's unfair that actresses feel pressure to look younger leo21 Oct 22, 03:35

90% of the time (including this time) "politically correct" can be replaced with "polite" without losing any meaning. RogerMore Oct 22, 06:21

Comedy would not exist if everyone had that attitude JohnErleVan Oct 22, 07:06

I disagree. I think a good comedian knows exactly which boundaries they are crossing, and how to do so in a funny way. But not everyone's a RogerMore Oct 22, 10:00

its that everyone is making fun of her and assuming its plastic surgery to stay younger, thats what cruel {nm} Moviesnob Oct 22, 08:55

Meg Ryan wasn't enough of a warning to everyone? Her plastic surgeon essentially ended her career. {nm} BSmurf Oct 22, 08:58
