the largest films that get a "normal" box office release.   As the industry changes, HSX can change too, never means hope is "lost".  Things change.  People need to adapt to the new realities.  People used to watch films with no sound....now you can get HD on your couch.   Things change, movies won't make as much in box office, but instead to streaming, and the streamers will make the $$$ that way.  So...take into account streaming figures...would be the next logical conclusion I think.  (but studios and streamers do not yet uniformly release them...but...i think this will also change, as...that is likely the future....)

I get the 2021 Warner film selloff, but if the late 2022 and 2023 films are rightfully crushed because hope is lost, isn't it for HSX too? {nm} tomcat90 Dec 03, 12:39

by 2022 Streaming will be closer to 75% if that low. Theaters are going extinct in the next few years. {nm} MuskMan Dec 03, 13:01

also, in the short term....you can short. If a films prospects look down...just....short....(i am up 20 million on the day...) Under the 3ebfan511 Dec 03, 12:59

I sold and shorted every name getting crushed when they were down "only" $20 haha. I don't get the '22 or '23 names being crushed though.... tomcat90 Dec 03, 13:06

Well not sure which films you mean ? If its WB they could do the same streaming/BO thing, anything Disney is iffy with their "focus" on 3ebfan511 Dec 03, 13:18

also, there can be derivatives on whether a film goes to streaming or not, and on its released streaming figures etc. {nm} 3ebfan511 Dec 03, 13:12

Turn off the lights mainge Dec 03, 13:32

Nope. This changes nothing, long term. EdwardHavens Dec 03, 15:15

and I think moviegoers are itching to go back to the theaters...a tiny screen isn't the future, it's a convenient option {nm} tealfan Dec 03, 15:29

It is a part of the future, but its not the only part. More choices. some want the theater experience, others do not. Will be a mix... {nm} 3ebfan511 Dec 03, 16:55
