It still has its charms for me though even the “Lynch” cut really wasn’t his ultimate vision

Posted by: cake boss! (a.k.a mickpix) on Oct 24, 10:29 in response to dennkenn's post that's what i thought after 45 minutes in. i may try to...

you can definitely see the Act II seams, where Dino montaged the crap outta Paul's time with Chani and the Fremen. and Act III just falls apart. probably will never get a true directors cut, sadly

DUNE is the real deal should be seen in the bigges screen with the best sound Gogreenytd Oct 24, 05:30

i guess it's hard not to deviate from the source, but the first 90 min felt like a high-class reshoot of Lynch's movie, down to the dialogue cake boss! Oct 24, 07:16

that's what i thought after 45 minutes in. i may try to watch the rest of it this weekend. i wasn't a fan of the lynch version. {nm} dennkenn Oct 24, 09:39

I think it is a good movie...just not a great adaptation of Dune. Too much plot missing. If you've not read the book, you're fine. Spoilers. Catzan Oct 24, 19:20

Lynch stil tried to follow as much as he could the book, and so is Villeneuve, so all the important dialogue lines must be in both movies... {nm} lukasck Oct 25, 10:31

And no, I haven't seen it yet, but I will soon!!! {nm} lukasck Oct 25, 10:34
