BSL AMA: Barring a last minute reshoot/change the Mister Mind tease in SHAZAM is not followed up on in SHAZAM: FURY OF THE GODS.

What does that mean "scoring in the high 80s"? What was the "score" for the Flash? What is the source? ELI5

Studio test screenings score on a 1-100 across various demos on various things but the goal is to get a high "definite recommend" percentage

The specific scores on THE FLASH, etc I think were posted at one point, I think it was low 80's after the most recent?

I thought maybe "80s" referred to a dollar amount, like 80m opening. Where can one find these screening scores you refer to?

They are typically confidential, occasionally they leak, like they did in all the Batgirl coverage or if a studio wants to brag.

The stars don't show up it in until 15 minutes in (after a lot of Thai) and it's a lot of tight murky cave footage. Not really commercial.

Probably the "feel good" ending (and they eat up "based on a true story" like candy) also probably smaller test audiences due to COVID.

Horror movies/sci fi gets ripped apart because they usually have downer endings (also why CinemaScores are usually bad for them)

Could have been harder to recruit and/or had to give a large incentive to those who did show up, plus...
