There is 1 non opener behaving very oddly and bucking the trend
With almost every non opener in the top 14 dropping between -48.5% to -76.5% there are actually 2 exceptions, Cyrus is up +155.6%, but that can be explained by its theater count expanding to nearly double what it was, the other is Letters to Juliet which is up 70.5% despite losing another third of its remaining theaters. LTJ has been acting crazy ever since Eclipse opened, going from $68,848 the day before Eclipse to $111,730 (+62.3%) when Eclipse had midnights to $249,814 (+123.6%) on Eclipse first day to $154,484 (-38.2%) on day 2 when things settled down and now an estimated $693,000 (+70.5% from last weekend) despite losing a third of its screens.
I'm guessing here but there were a lot of sell outs for Eclipse and chances are some of the overflow found its way to LTJ as it's the only other movie out catering to the female demographic.
Just odd seeing something doing the complete opposite of every other movie out there.
