Doesn't matter how good the movie is, just how much money it makes
First of all, a "bomb" is a movie that loses money. Ask anyone on this site who invested in Vampires Suck. They are god awful movies, but they ALWAYS make a profit and always generate money on this site. Meet the Spartans for example, $30 million dollar budget, $38 million gross (the $84 was with international.) As far as HSX goes, I could not care less what any critic thinks.
Honestly, it would be a great world if good movies automatically did well. Unfortunately that is not the case. David Fincher can even attest to that fact. His best film so far, Fight Club, brought in $37 million TOTAL. Zodiac did $33 million. If you think that GOOD DIRECTOR + GOOD ACTORS = PROFIT, well take a look at how Wall Street did last week.
The movie is probably great, but look for it to fall short. The college demographic is not reliable, and if your going to use Twitter and Facebook to judge how well this is going to do....well good luck with that.
