The logic behind your statement is truly perplexing. Not only is porn something that most people cannot see in movie theaters, it is not something that truly draws in generations. I don't know you personally, but many people of the young adult era will be seeing this movie just because of the fact that it's facebook.
Facebook is a universal thing. People go on it all the time and comment on other people's things. People enjoy facebook. People are intrigued about the movie. Some are like, "Bah, this movie is stupid. Who wants to see a movie about facebook?" and will see it FOR THAT reason just to see it. Money will be spent on this movie.
Pornography on the other hands is XXX rated, and people won't go to watch porn when they can watch it online for free on flash sites. Your logic is very flawed. Unless you were trying to make a joke... then if that's the case that's also a fail.
Social Network:
1. Has a much better known director
2. Has better-known actors starring in it
3. Premise is universal (facebook)
4. Marketing was sensational and the Zuckerberg controversey ensured even more publicity.
It will overperform.
