They're banking on people going to it because it's a cool looking movie (I don't think it is, but the less cynical in the crowd might).
I'm normally very much in the fan-boy-only movie mockery group around here, but I just don't see the comparison this time. It's definitly not Scott Pilgrim, that's for sure (Speed Racer would be a better comp if you want to go that route).
