Not every wrestling fan is naive, and you shouldn't expect them to be. There are A LOT of wrestling fans that, at least in some level, understand how it works. Yes, in "sports entertainment" kind of wrestling everything is scripted, staged, practiced. There are pushes, gimmicks, angles, feuds, kayfabe. Why wouldn't I be discussing results? I can assess them on predictability, performance, execution, innovation, etc. I can even analyze the path a performer has had up to here, where it might be leading to. You think if a wrestler goes there and constantly gives half-assed performances he will be main eventing many shows in the future? It's like expecting a bad movie actor to keep getting important jobs. Being a wrestling performer requires some kind of ability, be it physical or charismatic, or in some extent just the dumb luck to be at the right place at the right time.
And now that this company is big enough to reach who knows how many millions of people there is also the aspect of marketing oportunities for other businesses, which is what we're discussing here. Nothing wrong with that.
My point is, you can feel cheated if a singer isn't singing in a concert. But you can't complain if this kind of wrestling isn't "real", simply because it's not suposed to be. Make peace with that and enjoy the show, or just stay away from it but don't offend those of us who do.
If wrestling was real you would not see the same performer multiple times a week, probably not even multiple times a month. Businesses take care of their product, and offer you a performance sticking to industry standards.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong, it's just that way.
