websch01ar, I commend you for stepping up and actually responding. Believe it or not, I'm one of the few who actually enjoys discourse and learning of others' opinions on matters.
I'm not here to advocate Ebert's side nor yours, but I was very interested in your opinion above and beyond your original, "shocking revelations from a left-leaning leftist". It's so rare these days that someone can actually back themselves up in an intelligent manner. Thank you for providing that, you've given me food for thought.
In one of your posts, you made some defensive statements, as if you expected to be attacked for your beliefs. I think you wrote very well and had no need to include those qualifiers. Certainly there's room for argument and discussion about some of your statements, but I'm not interested in getting into it that deeply.
As a non-party afiiliated voter, I pride myself on listening and learning from both sides of the Kool-aid pool. My advice to everyone out there reading this (not directed at you, websc01ar) is to sample the other side once in a while, lest your favorite Kool-aid blind you to reality.
