I was going to mention the varitey of characters on that site...
It runs the gamut, and, yeah, it is the Intertubz. Posters run from current and retired LEOs, to solemn and practical citizens, and a small minority of wannabe heros, or guys looking to validate their manhood. It's interesting to see the wiser ones school the wannabes. Most of the guys on that board would do anything possible to avoid a confrontation; they know that, justified or not, life is going to get real complicated, real fast, if they ever use deadly force. They will apologize for even an imaginary slight; they will run away, if possible; many of them carry non-lethal alternatives. They know the laws of their states, and see deadly force as a last, tragic resort. But, they will protect their loved ones, and they will not be passive victims of felony violence.
