im the happiest bastard in the state right now because i've been a knife collector all my life, specializing in switchblades....antique or otherwise...in oklahoma its not against the law to own one....only illegal to carry one around in your pocket. the trouble is getting people to ship them across state lines. im not gonna name names but there are some who are more legal minded then others...in this age of drug wars and drive by shootings nobody really cares about knives that open with a spring...the 1958 switchblade act was a mindless and asinine attempt by congress to pretend they were doing something about the rising crime rate...fed by movies like west side story portraying thugs using switchblades as their weapon of choice. 2 years ago, 16 states repealed the 1958 switchblade act. im happy to report today oklahoma was number 17 (to my knowledge, i havent heard of any other). my facination with switchblades started when some guy pulled one on my dad in a parking garage. my dad broke his arm and took his knife. years later he gave it to me. that knife isnt around anymore....dammit...but thats what you get with cheap knives....buy quality or go home. theres just something about that *snap* sound that hits me deep down...anyway....sorry to talk so long....today is a celebration day for me...the 1958 switchblade act is finally dying of natural causes
