Although they try to be different, Black Lives Matter has crossed over into Antifa territory too many times, and that was not what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. preached or practiced. He is still greatly respected, as isĀ Rosa Parks. Their style, (or principle), was to walk in humility and do what is right. It eventually taught others that African Americans were citizens, just like anyone else, and needed to be respected as such throughout society. They both deserve a place of honor in American history.
The Antifa movement is a conglomeration of autonomous, self-styled anti-fascist groups in the United States. The principal feature of Antifa groups is their opposition to fascism through the use of direct action. They engage in militant protest tactics, which has included property damage and physical violence. They tend to be anti-capitalist and they are predominantly far-left and militant left, which includes anarchists, communists and socialists. Their stated focus is on fighting far-right and white supremacist ideologies directly, rather than politically.
Respect is earned, not through ones skin color, but by ones character. "where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." "With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together." Regardless of anything you say, I do respect the man.
